Commander Adama is critically injured when Cylon warriors carry out a kamikaze-like mission against the Battlestar Galactica, causing a raging inferno aboard the ship and threatening the lives of the last survivors of the human race. In "Fire in Space," the Battlestar Galactica's immigrant fleet struggles to survive when it is surprised by a deadly Cylon "suicide" mission. Commander Adama fights for his life while Lt. Boomer races against time to save Athena and Boxey from a fiery death. As rescue teams work their way to the trapped victims of the attack who are threatened by the fire, Muffit, the mechanical canine daggit, heroically risks himself to save his young master.
