One year, at Christmas time, as Madeline, her friends and Miss Clavel get ready by making presents for family and friends, decorating the school and baking cakes and cookies, Paris is hit by a huge and very unexpected snowstorm. This, added to the fact that the whole group, except for Madeline, has come down with very bad colds, means that no one can go home for Christmas. Misery prevails...until the appearance of Madame Marie, a smiling old lady known to Madeline and the girls. Madame Marie seems to have just the "touch" it takes to help Madeline change disaster into one of the most memorable Christmases ever.
