Would Maude let a simple thing like hate -- instead of love -- between a mother and daughter keep her from bringing the two of them together to patch up their differences? Not at all; it's just inspiration for Maude to arrange a peace council over her dinner table. Maude arranges a dinner for her recently widowed school chum, Jane, and without informing her, also invites Jane's estranged daughter, Linda. But Maude learns that her personal charm -- and considerable combat experience -- is not enough to make everyone live happily ever after.
