A fanatical Brother Godwyn proclaims the bridge collapse as God’s punishment for heir sins. Meanwhile, Queen Isabella furtively plots to get King Edward to declare war, which he does. Brother Godwyn uncovers Priory papers that could prove Isabella was behind murdering the king. With some clever trickery, Godwyn becomes Prior by default. An anonymous letter from Petranilla sends Roland into a rage. Thomas Langley’s mysterious behavior hints at some very dark secrets lying ahead.
