After the grim discovery of a missing man's body in the trunk of his car (Ep. 505), 15 Division must piece together what happened to Brian Gowdy - a high school teacher with no apparent enemies. While trying to track down their prime suspect, Andy and Sam go on the road to interview a list of inmates at Millburn Penitentiary. All are known associates of suspect Larry Chilton - a former inmate at Millburn Pen. Andy can't understand why Sam is suddenly back to his old ways, shutting her out, until she realizes that one person on their list of inmates happens to be Jay Swarek, Sam's elusive father. Meanwhile, back at 15, Traci leads the investigation and realizes they have the wrong suspect as the officers rush to save the person that meant the most to Brian Gowdy, before it's too late.
