When Charlie gets it into his head that he and Itchy must get back to their roots he concocts a wilderness trek for them. Though totally unsuited for the wilds Charlie pretends he's in touch with his wolf side. But when they meet a lost little scout named Charlotte he finds himself in a battle of gut instinct vs. camping know-how. Only when Itchy gets hurt do Charlie and Charlotte drop thier feuding to pool their talent to get themselvess and Itchy out of a raging forest fire.
