Laurie and Dan grow closer together as evidence mounts that their former colleagues are being targeted for murder. Frustrated by the unchecked threats, Dan becomes Nite Owl again and flies the Owl Ship for the first time in decades, with Laurie at his side, and winds up rescuing hundreds from an out-of-control tenement fire. Invigorated by this act of heroism, Dan professes his love for Laurie.
