It's Halloween, and Laurie and Dan start to put together pieces of a puzzle that points to a possible conspiracy when it comes to killing the former superheroes. They realize they need Rorschach and his knowledge, and carry out a massive jail breaks to spring him from his cell. When they return to Dan's apartment, they discover Dr. Manhattan has returned from Mars and he promptly disappears, taking Laurie with him.
